I am not sure of the girls name, She has pink hair so i will call her Pink. Pinks brain prosthetic is exactly what a heads up display is. A display of vital information that is constantly updated to inform the operator so that he may operate the machine better. It can also be used to display information of on other objects, Pinks must place a limit on what the HUD will show. which brings up another question of what is important to the operator. Is there information that is handy or is there information that is vital? could you choose what information goes up in your HUD? these are some questions that could help her in figuring out the uses of the HUD.

I don’t know what to post in this blog for this week, so i posted an excerpt from one of my essay about the exploration of questions.

-”In this foundation class, Critical Inquiry, we are assigned to groups that take on different roles and one of the roles is to make a work of art in response to the reading or other artifact that was assigned. Another assigned group leads a critical discussion of the visual responses. One week we discussed a poem called “The Deconstruction of Emily Dickinson”. As the discussion group considered the 5 pieces of visual art in front of them, they seemed to be avoiding one of them. It was an image of a person sitting on the floor with a telephone off the hook. The figure just stares at the phone that forms a question mark with its cord as it extends from the reach of the figure. As we finally began to critique this last image, one student, Grant, insisted that we asked the artist to explain his rather peculiar response. The artist’s response to the reading was completely different from all the others; it almost seemed irrelevant for that work to be among all the others. Grant did not want to respond without consulting the artists first. He did not want to get too involved in the artwork due to his hunch that the artwork might not have any significance with the reading. “I don’t want to get into where we are talking about God, biblical references and whatnot in this work, because it just seems irrelevant.” A few others in the critique group agreed with his suggestions while others ambitions of decoding the meaning of the art work over powered them and refuse to ask the artist.. As the comments began to increasingly become more out there : “I don’t know, maybe the guy is getting a phone call from God” and this comment disregarding the “meaning” of the phone cord “I think the artist just made the cord like that to show depth of space.” Finally, Grant’s wishes were finally acknowledged. We asked the artist, but he or she was nowhere to be found. As we further investigated as to who is the artist, the class come to the conclusion that the work of art was made by an artist that did not attend our class and the work of art was not made through the same reading of our class. So therefore the art work had no relevance to our class. I began to think as to why we went so in depth with the artwork, Grant and some others, including I, speculated that the artwork had no relevance to the reading. I wondered if the residue of the other reading for that week about the not so “New Criticism” influenced the way we looked at the artwork, and if it was a factor to the group failing to recognize that indeed it had no relevance to the Dickinson reading.”-

The future of car design will be determined by the consumer rather than by the producer. In the proccess of buying a car, you look at what the producer has made, your choices are limited. You may have an image of what you want your car to look like, and your quest of buying a car is to find a car that fits to your dream car. So therefore you are really limited as to what you can choose in terms of design. BMW has taken the consumers wants of there actual dream car and has a designed a car that is truly custom to what the consumer wants. the new GINA car design gives the consumer the choice as to what he/she wants to look like. this level of choice gives the consumer a new level of freedom as to what he wants in terms of design and is no longer restricted to the manufactures limits of car design.

The website; Halo 3 Believe is a website i visit a lot. For one, The “Halo” XBOX game series is one of my favorite first-shooter games. the website it self gives a story line of the last battle of Spartan 117 (the main character in the game series) where he defeated the enemies and eventually won the war for Humanities survival in the universe. the website has a very sorrowful back ground music that plays throughout the timeline of the great battle. in the website, like mentioned before, is a time line of the events that led up to the great victory for Earth, their are highly detailed figures and settings that help and amplify the story. check it out.

I worked all summer for this computer, $2,000 worth of work. in searching for a computer online, i searched for a computers with good design. something that would look good along with my other stuff. i concluded that the DELL XPS 1530 was the one laptop that would make everything around it look good, hence good design. The computer itself is sleek, it is compact, and it is simple. The exterior color of the laptop is Tuxedo black, with a border of aluminum grey on the right and left side of the laptop. In the bottom portion of the computer the casing of the keyboard is made out of aluminum. Giving the computer a look of elegance rather than the look of commercial feeling of plastic.

If i were to have 1000 true Fans, true fans that would follow me and my art work. Then i think i would be set to have an economical life. They would buy my artwork know that it is a one of kinda mint condition work of art. while in the other hand if artwork was to sell like toys in a wal-mart, then that artwork’s sentimental value would fall to a point where the art work would become kitsch and ordinary. It would not be unique, and that is what collectors are looking for, a work of art that is unique and not common. 1000 true fans would follow and critique my artwork to a point where they are almost willing to buy it and follow through with it. all 1000 of them. while having anything less than that would just be, well, i would not be making an good money. more than 1000 true fans, well i become a sell out and become kitsch

Like everything, it can be reproduce, even definitions such as Trust, Love, Companionship, Community. Things that Kevin kelly answered to the question of whats better than free. we can create environments to foster those definitions/emotions. trust can be reproduce over and over with differenet people, but once it is broken, trust can be reproduced…but i would be shitty version of it. same with love, but with love it becomes more of refined emotion, a copy better than the last…or sometimes worse. As a community a frame work can be established in order to reproduce a community. Maybe not the same community but one nonetheless. Other issues such as the making of custom objects, the original download can be hard to find…since everyone that copies an object adds or takes away, so towards the end of the chain of ownership the copied thing loses its originality and becomes original to the person that changed it. So in sense everything is not original but original to the person who changed it. so is it free? is it better? everything has a price. a price of comfort or pain. things that we are willing to pay for or something that we are willing to admire from a fart…or just steal it. but even stealing pays the price of time and effort. so yes, free does have a price…effort and time.

Endless Reproduction, is something that has become a factor in value. with the invention of photocopier, reproduction is limited only to resources that are available. Image become more common, they become more familiar, so familiar that they lose there value of sight. we begin to disregard them, simple common images that were once regarded as images only meant to be viewed in person. These images, such as the cliche’ “Mono Lisa”, have become so iconic, that the image itself, its context, its size have become distorted. In classes such as Art history, the iconic image is projected bigger than life, in books the image is printed smaller than life, and once you see the image, from what i am told, the viewer is disappointed of its size. After my art history teacher got back from her trip to italy, she took pictures with people in them, to show exactly how big the art was. to give a perspective on how exactly the image is like and how it is presented. In a gallery, the artwork has a frame work, a frame work that was designed to show emphasis on the art work itself. Back to reproduction and value, the original work it self is by no doubt more valuable than its reproduction. but in photography, where is the value established? every picture is same, at least in the production of it. in the archives of congress, any person can request a reproduction of an image from the original negative for a small price. does the image become more valuable if the photographer himself made the reproduction of the photo? same image, same manner of method of reproduction from the same negative.

Every Week, people around the world post short liners describing an event that makes there life…well…”f***ed up. They are funny, witty, and sometimes screwed up. but nonetheless extremely humorous. Some of the witty two-tree liners may be pure fantasy, but imagination can always trigger funny stories. In this website, the paragraphs structure are set up with a harmless introduction, as the second line approaches a twist of collides with the expected and follow through with you laughing. or sometimes shaking you head in disbelief. But despite all the disbelief, one can only imagine the situation the person has been put in. that, i think is what makes the paragraphs humorous.

Here is an excerpt from the website:

“Today, I was sitting in class and I fell asleep during the lesson. I was wearing sweatpants and had an erection. My teacher came up to me and grabbed my penis. She thought it was my phone. FML”

in the first experience of using Adobe Illustrator, i only wished i could combine Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator into one mega pack. But those are only wishes. I do prefer Illustrator over the selecting tool; Photoshop. Tools where easier to find and made more logical sense in Illustrator than in Photoshop. I can quickly see that this is going to be an essay of some sort that compares Photoshop and Illustrator. But in the mist of essay writting week here at MICA, it will stick straight to what i find true to my self. as stated before, i wish they were a way to combine both programs, the “window” block tool in illustrator comes in handy. it gives you a set amount of space withing the rectangular space that defines the “papers” boarders, BUT it gives you an almost infinate amount of space to work with. You know…scratch work, you always wish that you had more space to work with, without scarifying the designated “clean” space. so in saying that, in this first exprience…Illustrator is a much more logical tool.

Everyone should have clothing design!!!
